Three readings
周公解梦 reads a kiss as 合 — joining and harmony; a tender kiss marks a bond strengthening or a reconciliation, a kiss from a stranger an unexpected alliance or feeling entering your life. The mood of the kiss colours the omen.
Jung would read the kiss as the wish to merge with, or absorb, a quality the other carries — affection, power, freedom. Kissing an unexpected person is often less about them than the trait they embody that you are ready to claim as your own.
Ibn Sirin read a kiss as the attainment of something desired or a benefit from the one kissed — knowledge, affection, or a need met, its lawfulness in the dream shading the meaning. Framed as meaning: what connection or quality are you reaching for?
