Three readings
周公解梦 reads the flood as water — and water is wealth and feeling — arriving all at once; muddy floodwater warns of upheaval to weather, clear water of fortune that comes in a rush. High water is a force to respect and channel, not dam.
Jung read the flood as the unconscious overflowing its banks — emotion or change so large it sweeps the ordinary structures of life away. It often precedes a transformation; what is washed out had to go for something new to be built.
Ibn Sirin read the flood as tribulation, conflict, or a sweeping change — sometimes a trial that resets a place; surviving it, deliverance. Framed as meaning: what overwhelming change is cresting, and what must you move to higher ground?
